Saregama has done an unique thing. It is distributing the music of brand new film GANDHI TO HITLER on LP format. Saregama in its continuous endeavor to bring back the era of LP revived the format after 13 years, with their home production. Since then it has been launching its various timeless classics on LP format. GANDHI TO HITLER Produced by Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Directed by Rakesh Ranjan Kumar has scintillating musical tracks composed by Arbind-Lyton and soulful lyrics penned by Dr. Pallavi Mishra. Earlier, the film was announced to be made captioned as “Hitler” with actor Anuupam Kher playing the pivotal role of the worst dictator. Later on under adverse public opinion, Kher abandoned the film. The makers, thereafter, changed the caption to the present “Gandhi to Hitler” and signed actor Raghuvir Yadav to play the role of Hitler. The album has mesmerizing songs and renowned vocals of ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, Queen of Ghazals - Penaz Masani, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Daler Mehndi etc. Album’s highlight is the well written-meaningful pro-logue prior to each song which is also written by the lyricist Pallvi Mishra but delivered flawlessly by Rnnjan Arneja. This has not only enhanced the impact of the song but also made it easy to understand the context. Opening song “Tabahi ka Manzar” is by unparallel voice of Jagjit Singh mixing gazal and geet style with finesse and pathos.Next no. os sung by Shaan with lilt and support of good orchestra. This will also remind the old timers of the Pradeep song “Chal Chal Re Naujawan” rekindling patriotic ferver. Third song is the Gandhi’s evergreen bhajan "Vaishanav jan to Tene” soulfully rendered by gazal queen Penaz Masani in her munificent voice. Next is a jolly good Holi song "Hara Shwet Kesaria” a chorus rendered by Daler Mehndi, Priya Bhattacharya and Rana Mazumdar. Fifth is a repeat of “Vaishnav Jan” but in the reverberating evergreen, folksy and reverberating voice of Dr. Bhupen Hazarika. Music Aficinados familiar with his reverberating clear voice may notice the lack of consistent flow because of his bad health and age. Next number is our nation’s prayer song “Vande Mataram” but composed in Rock style by Aman-Bensen and rendered b Bensen, Aman and Vasundhara. Seventh is again the repeat of opening song "Har Ore Tabahi ka Manzar”, now withsome changes in words and in the voice of Shoureen, titiled as ‘Reprised Version’. Lastly it is again the Holi song but now with more fast beats and foot tapping tune sung solo by Punjabi Pop king Daler Mehndi. Connoisseurs of music will treasure the quality of sound which emerges from the LP format Priced at Rs.799/- but CD costs just Rs.170/-.
