A Heartfelt Tribute to India's Multi-linguist Poet Nida Faazli

I am shocked to know the sudden demise of well known Multi linguist, earthy, secular Poet cum Lyricist Nida Faazli on 8 Feb. 2016.The film world is orphan now having lost the towering presence of this last real poet beckon of the Hindi Film and TV World. He was nothing less than a living legend, the last Mughal amongst lyricisits ,

A thourough gentleman with an encuraging attitude ,he used to be very inspiring to we journanlists in yore Film and TV Serial soirees and celebrations. In one such meet, besides his Urdu shayari he recited so many Dohas, Chaupais and Lines in Avdhi, Brij Bhasha and Bhojpuri tooraning form Kabir, Rahim, Puran Bhakta and others. That is why I am calling a multi-linguist. In another such party ,when I too was present in the "Shairi Ka Daur" in the August company of Anup Jalota and Pan...kaj Uddhas, I too had had the temerity to cite one Urdu Couplet " Bistar Ki Silvaton Se Mahsoos Ho Raha Hai , Toda Hai Dum Kisi NE Karwat Badal Badal Ke". He apprecited it so much that he recommended the present Gazal Singer Stalwarts Anup Ji and Pankaj Ji to add this 'Sher'as the 'Pre-cital' before presenting a suitable Gazal. That was an example of his 'Badappan', an unique simple persona to encourge talent in others. We will all miss him for ever.
Nida Saab, Khuda Aap Ko Jannat Bakshe. Rest in Peace.!
