13th Mumbai Film Festival (MFF)

Good news for Mumbai film buffs. A grand fiesta of choicest Indian and International films will be held in Mumbai under the aegis of Mumbai Academy of Moving Images (MAMI) now a unit of Reliance Big Entertainment Ltd. as its 13th edition from 13th Oct. to 20th Oct. 2011

The festival will have the following different film sections:

  1. International Competition for the First Feature Films of Directors
  2. Above the Cut (First Feature Films which could not be included in the competition Section)
  3. World Cinema (Award Winning, Critically acclaimed feature films produced during the one year period after the last edition of the Festival)
  4. Dimensions Mumbai (A short film competition for the youth of Mumbai).
  5. Harmony Celebrate Age (International Competition for films dealing with the concerns, spice, fun and adventure of growing older)
  6. Real Reel (A selection of feature length documentaries)
  7. Indian Frame (A selection of high quality Indian Films)
  8. New Faces in Indian Cinema (first or second films of directors)
  9. Retrospectives / Tributes / Master Classes

For Competition films, the following prize money is kept :

International Competition for the First Feature film of directors

Cash Awards: US$ 100,000 for the Best Film

and US$ 50,000 for the Grand Prize

Audience Choice Award: US$ 20,000 awarded to any film voted by the audience from any section of the festival (excepting retrospectives / tributes)

10% of the cash award goes to the Sales Agents / distributors who enter the award winning films in the Festival

Besides, there will be a Film Business Centre for B2B networking platform and provides opportunities for the buyers, sellers and co-producers to come together.
