Need to build robust institutional mechanisms to generate trust, transform India’s economic landscape 

 

 

 

While launching first edition of Young Leaders Awards 2024 at New Delhi, Ms Meeta Rajivlochan, Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, Govt of India addressed he session  on ‘Building the New India: Role of Our Young Leaders’, during the FICCI Young Leaders Awards said “ combination of the traits of energy, enthusiasm and idealism can be used by young entrepreneurs to highlight the importance of ethics in business along with dharma. Today, the most important commodity in business is trust. Business is all about building brands, trust and for that we need robust institutional mechanisms going forward.The Secretary further stated that if we can build robust institutional mechanisms to generate trust, then we can transform the country including the economic landscape of the country. Role of young entrepreneurs is very important in this,” she asserted. 

Speaking on the quality standards she stated that in India, the task of building standards has been vested with government and at times this creates many dysfunctionalities in the interface between the government and business.” 

 

Mr Shashwat Goenka, Chairman, FICCI Young Leaders Forum and Vice Chairman, RP Sanjiv Goenka Group said that the young generation holds immense potential in every section of our society. “Young people who are pushing the boundaries of innovation, challenging the status quo, and disrupting traditional industries with fresh ideas and cutting-edge technology. The willingness to take risks, think out of the box and challenge conventional wisdom is what propels progress .

 

Mr Rishabh Shroff, Co-Chair, FICCI Young Leaders Forum and Co-Head, Private Client & Head, International Business Development, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas said it is important to build passion in the next generation for running the family-owned business through role modelling, storytelling, etc.

 

Ms Aishwarya Bansal, Chair, FICCI Young Leaders Delhi NCR Chapter & Co-Founder, Smartworld Developers said, “The FICCI Young Leaders Awards are crucial as they do more than just honor individual accomplishments. These awards inspire an entire generation to dream bigger, strive harder, and lead with integrity and purpose, as embodied by the FICCI Young Leaders Forum.”

 

FICCI Young Leaders Awards 2024 were announced during the event. The eminent jury of FICCI Young Leaders Awards 2024 include - Mr Subhrakant Panda, Immediate Past President, FICCI; Mr Mohandas Pai, Chairman – Manipal Global Education, Ms Sandhya Devenathan, VP & MD – Meta India; Ms Upasana Taku, Chairperson, Co-Founder & CEO – Mobikwik; Mr Suhel Seth, Founder & Managing Partner – Counselage India; Ms Shereen Bhan, Managing Editor – CNBC TV18 and Mr Shashwat Goenka, Chair – FICCI Young Leaders Forum & Vice Chairman – RP Sanjiv Goenka Group.
