Film Village conceptualized by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), the co-organizer of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in association with the Sports Authority of Goa has already started preparations for the forthcoming 42nd Edition of IFFI, scheduled from 23 Nov. 2011 to 3rd Dec. 2011. As a special initiative for students and delegates seeking an outdoor experience while enjoying the frills and excitement of the fest, has taken this step in view of the perennial demand from young film cine buffs and students who are in need of a decent accommodation near the Festival venue.

The village specially offers a new vision of accommodation and a rich public experience, by weaving together the natural ecology, local culture, urban context and a backdrop paradigm of healthy living - a unique experience for the low budget IFFI delegate.

The SAG playground at Campal, along the banks of river Mandovi, will be transformed into a village, comprising of 35 tents, during the festival. The fee of Rs.200/- per day per person will include the facility of stay & breakfast with 24 hours security.

Extracurricular activity like sailing, table tennis etc will also be available.

Few Words About ESG:

Established by the Government of Goa in 2004, as the nodal agency in the organization of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the main objective of the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) is to frame an entertainment policy to help cultivate Goa into a world-class international entertainment nerve center of the country. Successfully hosting the 35th, 36th, 37th, 38th, 39th, 40th and 41st International Film Festival of India to a glare of media and fanfare, the objective of the Entertainment Society of Goa is to work towards building global visibility and branding.

Mooted by the Govt of Goa and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Delhi, based on Goa’s world reputation as a tourist destination, with its unique flavour of European lifestyle co-existing with multi-cultural ethnic sensibilities, Goa is now the permanent venue host for the Film Festival.

Since its inception, the erstwhile Dy. Director of Film Festivals from I & B Ministry Manoj Shrivastava, was especially deputed as Chief Executive Officer of the ESG, to start, establish and expand the necessary infrastructure and the Film Culture to take shape in Goa for hosting such gigantic International Film event.
