PLAY BACK SINGER JASWINDER SINGH SHINES IN NEW GAZAL ALBUM “ISHQ NAHIN AASAAN”
Under the label of renowned Music company SAR RE GA MA, playback singer Jaswinder Singh has given a feast of lilting and meaningful gazals to the content starved Gazal aficionados. He selected seven romantic and most meaningful gazals on one Nazm of Master shayars like Momin, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Jigar Muradabadi, Mirza Ghalib, Daag / Ameer Minai and Naseer Akbarabadi; under the guidance of no less a shayar lyricist than Javed Akhtar.
The entire album with a soft pitched gayaki, inimitable style emphasizing the meaningful words, has already earned him a title “TheYoung Gazal Maestro” from Indian Music Academy (of renowned flutist Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia) thru’ the hands of the former President Of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Azad, who himself is no less a connoisseur of gazals.
The first Gazal “Jo kisi par fida nahin hota” is a compendium of choicest “shers” from three stalwart poets viz; Bekhud, Momin and Jigar. Jigar’s full gazal “Ik lafze mohabbat ka” is also there from which the title of this album is derived. “Ye Ishq Nahin Aasaan” from the sher “Ye Ishq Nahi Aasaan, Itna hi Samaz Lije; Ek aag ka Dariya hai aur Doob ke Jaana hai”. Jasvinder gave his full throated verve to this “kataha”. Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s three populat gazals are included viz: “Dil mein ab tere Bhule huwe Gham”, “Shaam_e_Firaaq ab na Pooch” and “Naseeb Aazmane ke din aa rahe hain” are all sung marvelously. Ghalib’s popular gazal, “Dil-e- Nadan tujhe huwa kya hai” is rendered effectively. But the best numbers which touch our hearts are popular “Hum Ishq Ke Maroon Ka, Itnahi Fasana hai” which has been filmed on video by director Raajeev Walia. “Rotiyaan” the Nazm of Naseer Akbarabadi also stirs our emotions on hunger and struggle for survival.
Melodies are composed by the senior music Maestro and cine music director Kuldeep Singh, who is also father of Jasvinder Singh
This is a MUST album for all genuine Gazal lovers.
