India's flagship music company Saregama India Ltd. has re-launched the music of the classic film “Hum Dono” now digitally converted from B & W to colour.The movie was a box office hit produced and acted in by the legendary Dev Anand co-starring Nanda and Sadhana.
The music from the movie was famous and great hit during its time, with melodious songs by legendary artistes Lata Mangeshkar and Mohammad Rafi. Can you ever forget the "Main Zindagi ka Saath Nibhata Chala Gaya" sung by Rafi ? The evergreen Bhajan sung by Lata - "Allah Tero Naam". And it also had the timeless romantic duet sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi "Abhi Na Jao Chhodkar Ke Dil Abhi Bhara Nahi” All gems of lyrics penned by the unforgettable shayar-lyricist Sahir Ludhianvi. The music had also exalted the then comparatively unknown Music composer Jaidev in the category of one of he top music directors of that time.
All the above hits can now be heard on a stereo format in the re-launched album now enhancing the lilt and vibrancy. And the most unique and exciting feature of this album is that after each song, Nandaji and Dev saab have give their commentary, sharing their experience and anecdotes on how it was while shooting for the particular song, their rapport with each other and their own personal opinion on the music and the film.
