WOMEN'S WELLNESS CONCLAVE

WOMEN’S WELLNESS CONCLAVE - A LAUDABLE initiative by YFLO (YOUNG FICCI LADIES ORGANISATION) And “Sleepwell Foundation” N G O. Mr. Rajv Pratap Rudy lent Support to YFLO to achieve their goal of skill development and at providing employability skills to women On the eve of International Women’s Day Ms. Avarna Jain – Chairperson of YFLO (Young FICCI Ladies Organisation) in association with the SLEEPWELL FOUNDATION (an NGO) organised for the first time, a Women s Wellness Conclave dedicated to women’s WELLNESS at Hotel le Meriden, New Delhi.

In today's world, women are more aware of how the surroundings affect them. The Women's Wellness Conclave gave a deeper insight into the concept of wellness. Over the course of the day, topics ranging from physical, emotional, intellectual, creative to spiritual wellness were discussed by eminent National & International Specialists in their respective fields.

The Chief Guest for the Event was Honourable Minister Captain Rajiv Pratap Rudy, the Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (Independent Charge) & Parliamentary Affairs, Government of India. He promised to lend support to YFLO to achieve their goal of skill development and at providing employability skills to women.

Kiran Bedi, the first Woman IPS and the BJP CM candidate of recent Delhi elections, Vesna Jacob India’s leading fitness expert, Namita Jain, past president of YFLO also participated in the discussion.

Ms. Avarna Jain – Chairperson of YFLO (Young FICCI Ladies Organisation) said “The world health organization defines Wellness as “an active process of becoming aware of and making choice towards a healthy and fulfilling life and as I conclude the conclave, I am sure we have taken one step closer towards our Wellness. This conclave will contribute towards achieving the national goal of skilling India by providing basic skills in Yoga, Counselling, Nutrition etc. It is pertinent to mention that the Wellness Industry has a huge prospect of providing lakhs of employment opportunities for young women in urban and rural India – almost 45% of the prospective work force - through entrepreneurship and jobs. We hope that this in turn will contribute to the make in India campaign” thus concluded Avarna.

YFLO has been doing some good work with skilling, YFLO would like to work with the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and achieve this goal of skill development and at providing employability skills to women. Getting employed is a 3 step process. It starts with exposure - many of the girls at the ITI maybe training to work in the food industry but have never seen the inside of a cafe or restaurant. At this stage what they need is exposure. Thereafter they need to be able to intern within the industry to enhance their employability skills. Then comes employment. And at every step YFLO with a 300 member body will be able to help them get exposure in the relevant fields, intern in the appropriate industry, both of which will give them the finer employability skills that they need to stand on their own feet.
