Saregama has just released a album written, conceived and composed by Rajesh Dhabre; who is otherwise a bureaucrat by profession. This is a musical interpretation of timelessless, universality and the teachings of the world ICON Tathagat Siddharth Gautam, better known as Lord Buddha now by millions of his followers all over the world.
The CD comprises of Eight pulsating songs and bhajans in the celebrity voices of veteran Playback singers. Opening number is the title song “Buddha Hi Buddha Hai”sung by Sonu Nigam rendered in semi- classical lilt at appropriate pitch. Next is “Buddha Ki jivani” in the sweet voice of lyricist- composer Rajesh Dhabre describing the life story of Gautam Buddha in illustrative and educating way.”Suno Re Haath Jod Ke” is a chorus as Prarthana Bhajan of Lord Buddha in the voices of Shankar Mahadevan, Bhavana and Rajesh Dhabre. “Trishana Mein Rog Hai” is classically rendered by Shankar Mahadevan; lyrics supporritng the intent in curbing our worldly desires. Next number is “Bandhu Bhav” in the familiar voice of Alka Yagnik, a bhajan sung with verve, devotion in fast rap. In “ Aag Se Aag” Padmashri Hariharan has used his reverberating tone to convey us subtly the universal religious tolerance. Last two numbers are in the sonorous voice of Suresh Wadkar --- “Badal Ke Bin” is in a classical raga and “Sukhkar Hai” is the meaningful STUTI (PRAISE) of the powers of healing and peace in touch of Lord Buddha.
Kudos to Rajesh Dhabre for meaningful lyrics and rhythmic music. Music is mixed and mastered at Yashraj Sudios by Vijay Dayal. All in all a worth listening album for all, whether you are a devotee of Lord Buddha or not.
